An overview of European Capitals. This will be an Work in Progress post until I complete all capitals in Europe, so please bear with me. Hope it will help you as inspiration for your next trips. I will provide links to the detailed information you can find on my blog.  It comes in Alphabetical order ;) 

It's a gorgeous city, the architecurte, the history & the mood. Make sure you climb till the top of Stephen's Cathedral for a nice view over the center, visit a less known museum such as the Globe Museum and try the Wiener Schnitzel @ Figlmueller

It's a must to pass by the Grand Place, with its exquisite architecture. Pass by Delirium to check out several of the local Belgian beers or for a new flavor on the market try the beers from the Brussels Beer Project. Of course don't think of your diet as Pralines & Belgian Waffles are a must  

It's about the food and the Eastern European hospitality. With extremely friendly people and some extremely delicious food, Sofia is there also adding to interesting architecture and history. Make sure you don't miss the Vitosha mountain. 

When it comes to a fairy tale looking capital city Prague is clearly making the top of the list especially in winter. The downside is the heavy food, but if you like Czech beer you should be fine ;) 

The city of H.C. Anderson could not be a more Instagram-able place out there. Make sure you have enough time to spend around Nyhavn neighborhood. The terraces there are clearly not cheap but if you are in saving mood the walk around the area will make you equally happy.  

Paris is not my cup of tea when it comes visiting the top 10 things to do things type of tourists. Not that they are not beautiful or special, it's just that it leaves me with no emotions. I did like the city when I went to walk around in Montmartre one evening after a work trip. 

As in Paris, London does not really attract me as such. Maybe the immensity or the huge amount of people everywhere leaving you no cm of space for yourself to reflect and enjoy what you are seeing is the problem. Still when it comes to musical offers there is no better place in Europe than London. SO you have to pick your battles, if you are like me stay off the tourist path and you'll be fine  

Oh, Budapest, this is a beauty of Europe. With the Fisherman's Bastion on one side and the Hungarian Parliament on the other side of the Danube, Budapest offers some stunning architecture topped by the best dessert in the world: Kurtos Koalcs 

They say that you need to try one of their traditional dishes which is ....wait for it.....rotten shark, yeap you read it well, rotten rotten rotten...DON'T do it, seriously worst thing ever. Besides this, Iceland's capital has a lot of street-art around and millions of souvenir shops to buy cute things for your loved ones at home. 

One of the capitals that makes me feel the best when going over (and I go once a year...:P) Dublin is a place where you'll find some of the nicest people out there. They say you should always ask your bartender if he had other customers before you, apparently it's important not to drink the first beer of the day...and for the Guinness drinkers make sure you finish the beer before the foam goes away

As Mocheeba puts it Rome was not built in a day....but has years of history behind it. There is no such thing as going only once to Rome as once is never enough. So make sure you have acoin to throw in the Trevi fountain to go back to Rome ;) 

If you tell me Vilnius I'll always think of people taking their cars out in town to show off (thought this only happens in Eastern Europe :P ), Uzupis - the neighborhood that declares itself as a independent Republic and the Lactose free cheese that tastes like cured cheese...and of course a lot of other things, but for sure it's an interesting place to check out 

Don't go there in July as it is super terribly hot, other than that, Valletta is a super cute capital offering awesome Jazz Friday Nights and perfect walks through the cities narrow streets with colorful balconies.

I mean what is there more to say than Casinos - Ferrari - Luxury Life. We stopped in Monaco on our way to Italy, to get the feel of it.  

When you say Amsterdam so many things come to mind...I've been to Amsterdam on several days on lets call them day trips. Not because it's expensive to sleep there but it just happened. More than top sights, Amsterdam is also one of those places that the city itself is a must see. Of course if you are into Art, pass by the Rijk Museum and if you want to get a real Dutch experience go over on  Kings Day (Funny Memory: back when I was young :P It was still Queens Day, and we went twice, once we slept in the central station until police kicked us out and second time we slept at a friend's place)...the rest I am sure you already know what to add to your list ;) 

I went on a Day Trip from Dublin and it was worth every penny. Walking around the peace wall (walls) having a guide to give you details of the tumultuous past (before the peace) will clearly get you some extra input to your general knowledge. The Titanic experience very nicely done and worth your time.  

We were lucky to be there on some sunny March days and we were blessed with a wonderful sunset. Olso is expensive so get prepared to leave quite some money at restaurants, or opt for the 7/11 shop where you can buy delicious sandwiches (expensive for a sandwich but great value/quality/nutrition ratio). An awesome trip is the one to Bergen as you get a ferry trip through the fjords.    

Gorgeous center especially when you catch it during the beautiful sunset hours. The only downside I need to raise is that I personally did not like the polish food :| .. as an alternative focus on beer :)

Oh, Lisbon, this is clearly one of my favorite capitals. The vibrant city offers a perfect mix of must sees, great food and intense nightlife. 

I might be subjective here, but Bucharest is probably the best party place in Europe. I won't start enumerating the reasons but let you discover it on your own. On top of this, with an outstanding offer of restaurants and coffee places topped up with interesting architecture (they used to call it the little Paris), Bucharest should be on everyone's list who would wants a glimps of what Eastern Europe looks like. 

The capital city of Scotland is a wonderful place to visit, especially if you also get to see the sun ;). Take the time to stroll through the streets of the Royal Mile, but if you like hiking make sure to pass by Arthur's Seat

This place did a great job taking the best of all it's surrounding neighbors, making it a perfect weekend trip. Ladies watch out, the Slovenian men are GORGEOUS :) 

This is the place where I would love to live maybe even for a super long time like forever :P .. but till then, I am just a tourist in my favorite city. Maybe not as full of jaw-dropping architecture as Barcelona and I know I know it also does not have the sea, but if you let Madrid guide you through it's neighborhoods you'll absolutely love it.  

A Trip to Rome needs to include a trip to Vatican City. But keep in mind that the Vatican is a top crowded place so be patient and don't stress in order to enjoy at least a little bit what you came for.
