You have of course the option of sleeping in a hotel, but why would you? The casas particulares in Cuba are safe, clean and bring you inside the life of the Cuban culture. So, I would say, leave the hotels for other places (except maybe in the Cayos) and start searching for the perfect Casa for you. I will give all contact information with some comments for all the casas particulares we stayed in so you can have a starting point. at the end will list some websites where we found the contact information. One Last thing before I start listing, it very often happens that in the end you don't stay at the person where you booked but they will arrange you to stay with one of the neighbors or friends. We only had positive experience so all in the list below are highly recommended. Havanacasahabanablues.comThe house of Daniel y Fina is definitely one of the top highlights and nicest experiences we had. Casa Habana Blues Calle Belascoain 360 (entre San Rafael y San Jose) apt. 1, Centro Habana, Cuba. E-mail: [email protected]; [email protected] ph#: +5378700945 mob#: +5352914328 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/casahabanablues1940/ Website: http://casahabanablues.com/ They are both very kind and helpful people who offer a nice & clean house. Fina welcomed us with some delicious Guyana Juice and had a map prepared for us to make it easier to explore the city. We paid 30 CUC per room of 3. There are towels for each person, toilette paper & soap. The rooms have both air conditioning and a ventilator so that everyone can sleep according to his/hers temperature standards :). You can also get breakfast for 5 CUC per person including fresh juice, fruits, coffee, and an omelette (hope I did not miss anything) enough to get you a fresh start for exploring the city. They have 2 apartments, one where they live and the other one for turists. The apartment has a common room and 4 bedrooms each with it's own bathroom. If going to Havana, make sure you try to contact them first :) For your next place to stay do not worry, I am sure Fina can help with some recommendations on the next place you will stay over (if you don't find the contact in the list below) SaritaROOMS.comWell Sarita has a house in the same building with Daniel y Fina only one floor higher. Calle Belascoain 360 (entre San Rafael y San Jose) apt. 4, Centro Habana, Cuba. E-mail: [email protected] ph#: +5378782656 mob#: +5352635255 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Sarita-Rooms-BBs-Havana-CUBA-196307173864538/?fref=ts Website: http://www.saritarooms.com/ We stayed one night only as the house of Fina was full. It was 25 CUC for 2 people, room had private bathroom, air conditioning and ventilator. Clear room, towels & toilet paper available. The house is shared with the grandparents, but they did not bother at all, so it's a good option if the house of Daniel y Fina is booked. Casa de Rafel PerezThe place is far far away from the city, but if you are in Havana in a day like the one when the Rolling Stones decide to have a free concert, then it was a very good alternative. They have 2 rooms one double room of 35 CUC and one of 2 big single beds for 45. To be honest this room is for 2 people as well, or maybe 2 couples or girls sharing the same bed, otherwise is very tight. House was clean and owners very helpful. You have a bar opened 24/7 5 min walk away so you can party all night long (pay attention at the prices they tend to trick people here). Ave 43 #6810 altos e/ 68 y 70 Playa. Yuya cooks AMAZING, so make sure you do go for the local specialty lobster in special sauce (12 CUC) and I would recommend to take the breakfast (5 CUC) it is very reach and delicious. They also helped us with organizing our days and activities there. We had a fabulous experience! CienfuegosCasa de Juan Luis Y TeresitaYuya (from Vinales) called Teresita to arrange us the stay in Cienfuegos and we got the address below. The place (as always) was already booked but we could stay with the neighbors down the street. Avenida #48 entre 43 y 45, Cienfuegos E-mail: [email protected] ph# +5343514114 mob# +53 5 8262059 website: http://cnccuba.com/juanluisyteresita Hostal JuanitaWe stayed at the house of Juanita and Gilberto. They have a floor only for guest. The room had a double and a single bed, with private bathroom, aircon & ventilator. price 10 CUC per person. Breakfast is 5 CUC per person. They are both very nice. Hostal Margarita & NeneMargarita was very helpful especially with finding us a place to stay in Moron which is more difficult to get than in other places as it is not yet that popular as stopover to the Cayos. We had 2 rooms of 3, the price was 30 CUC per room with private bathroom, aircon & ventilator. They have a very nice terrace where you can enjoy the hour until darkness. Great location for waking up early and starting your all inclusive experience ;) CamagüeyCasa AnaIn Camagüey we stayed at the house of Reinier. the house has 3 rooms and they were now working at a terrace for guests. As Reinier told us once we arrived, the best shower we had in Cuba :) and one one the best coffees :). The rooms have TV, aircon, towels. Price was 30 CUC per room of 2. Rooms have bathroom, towels and ventilator. Price 30 CUC per room of 3. Breakfast was 4 CUC, but except the hot chocolate which was delicious I did not like it as much as in the other places we had breakfast.
