It is not a trip to Greece if you do not spend at least a day to the Beach. Based on our main location, we decided to go for a day trip to Lefkada and spend some hours in Porto Katsiki at the recommendation of our Greek friends.
"Considered as the Caribbean of Greece, Lefkada island amazes visitors with the exotic blue colour of its beaches. Connected to the mainland through a small bridge, Lefkada can actually be accessed by car, so there is no need for ferry" (Source)
On a hot summer day, nothing can be better than a Greek Frappe.
We continued the winding roads until we reached Porto Katsiki, which is a wonderful location. A bit too full of tourists for my taste, but still it is a wonderful view of the blue water and the mountains around.
Porto Katsiki is one of the main beach attractions of Lefkada and among the 10 best beaches in Greece and in the Mediterranean. It is located 45 km southwest of the island's capital and close to Athani village. (Source)
There is a parking on site and there are some places to grab some food or you can actually order and get your food delivered on the beach...At the end of the day, we went to eat in Lefkada at the Lighthouse Tavern Restaurant where we enjoyed as always the local food.
Maybe best to take a weekend and explore by foot some places around as it looks really incredibly beautiful.
