A very short overview of all the places we ate in Napoli. Don't read this if you are hungry as you might book a flight to Naples directly. :)
Trattoria Medina
Address: Via Medina 32
Opening hours: 11:30AM-3:30PM, 7:30PM-1AM
the place is huge and they have long opening hours this is the advantage of this place. The food is ok. The parmigiana was a bit too heavy and I would say after several other pizzas in Napoli it missed the extreme delicious tomato sauce, but overall good back up place.
L'Antica Pizzeria da Michele
Address: Via Cesare Sersale 1
Opening hours: 11AM111PM (Sunday Closed)
It is said to be the oldest Pizza restaurant in Napoli and where it all started. they filmed the movie with Julia Roberts here, Eat, Pray, Love. It works on a queuing system. Once you arrive just ask for your number. We waited 45 min to enter (took the ticket at 21:12) but then the pizza was ready in a second. They only serve 2 types of pizza: Margherita & Marinara. We paid 8 Euro per person pizza plus beer.
Caffe' La Nuit Srl
Address: Via Nazario Sauro 9
we were up for a late lunch so we needed to snack something, we stopped at this place which was on the way to our hostel coming from Catel dell'Ovo.
Two of the traditional Neapolitan pastries are the Sfogliatelle & Baba au Rhum. In the picture you can also see a traditional Sicilian dessert (Cannoli Sicilian) and a mini fruit tart and a tiramisu. Place was not very cheap but the sweets were good, I would not necessary sit there again. Tratoria Nennela
Address: Vico Lungo Teatro Nuovo
Opening Hours: 12-3:15PM, 7:15-11:30PM (Sunday closed)
I do not have pictures, but it was one of the most interesting experiences we had. We were 13 and at 3:45 we were searching a place to eat. We arrived right when they were closing, and they did not want to let us in initially, but then they said if we just want appetizers it was ok to stay and then they brought so many appraisers that everyone was super happy at the end. a definitely must try for a extreme friendly Italian experience.
Gino Sorbillo
Address: Via dei Tribunali, 32
Opening Hours: 12-3:30PM, 7PM-12AM
They say it is the best Neapolitan pizza for 2016 in the world. Not sure if it true, but is is indeed really good. You have to fill yourself with patience as there are always queues, but the effort is worth it
Jamonito
Address: Piazza Giulio Rodino
We only stayed here because it was opened and it looked to have some potential, but not really. It's a super average place, with not necessary bad tasting food but it was very greasy. The staff was nice at some level although they looked not very friendly at first.
Pizzeria Brandi
Address: Salita Sant'Anna di Palazzo, 1/2
Opening Hours: 12:30-3:30PM, 7:30PM-12AM
We got there in an attempt to find a place to eat for 11 around 9PM on a Saturday so not the easiest thing to do. Anyway the food was good, but I did not like the attitude of the people working there. One one hand they were over filling our wine glasses to push us finishing more bottles and then at the end we got more wine on the bill than we actually drank, so pay attention with what you order
Airport coffeee
everything is well when coffee is involved, so before we left just one last delicious Italian coffee
I was very happy in Naples as I tasted incredibly delicious food. Make sure when you go you schedule enough time for eating.
