Poland

A trip to the Baltic Sea: Sopot

12/26/2018

It was 1st of May and as per Romanian tradition you go at the seaside and seems that same applies in Poland.

Getting there

The beach is 20 min by SKM train from Gdansk Train station plus another 10 minutes waling. In a weird way, you can't buy a return ticket in Gdansk but you need to by one way Gdansk - Sopot and then in Sopot you can buy your return ticket. It has different prices also.

What to see and do

Kosciol Rzymskokatolicki pw. sw. Jerzego (aka Catholic Church :) )

Crooked House

It was designed by Szotynscy & Zaleski, who were inspired by the fairytale illustrations and drawings of Jan Marcin Szancer and Per Dahlberg.

Snacks at Tawerna Rybitwa

With the view over the Baltic Sea we stopped for some wine and snacks at this beach restaurant.

The Beach

There were so many swans on the sea..I only saw them on lakes before, was interesting. The beach is super long and wide so it was enough space for all tourists that came over for the day, but the water was freezing cold...so clearly too early for a swim :P

Lunch @Seafood Station Restaurant, Bar & Grill

Not bad but
It is the best reviewed restaurant I could find between the beach and the train station and the foot itself is actually good, but the wine...seriously we ordered a bottle of rose and had to give it back as it was sweet and sparkling, then we ordered a Proseco and even that one was sweet but a more decent...I would have expected to actually  write the type of wine in the menu, which they don't. Anyway
And from here it was time to go back to Warsaw. Make sure you keep an eye on all the posts related to our trip in Poland.
