Poland

Route: Warsaw - Gdansk - Sopot

We heard so many good things about Poland that we said it's time to have a look and see what it has to offer. We chose Gdansk over Krakow after a long debate as we would be there on 1st of May and in Romania this is the seaside opening season which we miss a bit, so we said why not enjoy the seaside in Poland (Sopot).

Day 1 - WARSAW by night

We landed in Chopin Airport around 5PM and from there we took a SKM train to Sulejowek Milosna which takes about 20 minutes.

From there we stopped at Warszawa Centralna to book our tickets to Gdansk for the next morning. If you do not speak polish, please head to the international office  as the guys at the main office are not very friendly and mostly not speaking English.

You have 2 options for your tickets
- Regular trains which cost  _____ and take about 4h to reach Gdansk, these trains are quite old
- Express trainis which cost ____ and take about 3h to reach Gdansk but are super clean and nice.

We decided for a mix. We booked the 6AM normal train to Gdansk and the express train back to Warsaw. To be fair the 1h of saved time and the nice train don't really make up for the cost of the ticket, but if in a hurry 1h can make a huge difference.

We booked an accommodation on the diagonal from the train station - SZO Aprtments Central Station Apt via booking and the place is perfect for 2. There is also an extendable couch available so 4 would fit as well, but it would feel a bit small.
We are not the type to stay in, so we left our luggage and we went out to the center. We walked all the way so we could get an idea of the city, it feels so much like Bucharest somehow.

Visit the center & Have some Beer

Day 2 - Gdansk

As mentioning we woke up super early to get the 6AM train to Gdansk. After 4h we reached Gdansk on a sunny morning.

We stayed at Sweet Suite which is a bit over priced for my standards and considering the country, but they do have comfortable beds which is important ;)

Highlights: Waterfront - View from the Top - Ice Cream

Best place for people watching, make sure you grab a beer as it adds to the experience.

Go on top of the city hall for only to Euros and admire the cure Gdanks houses

Day 3 - Sopot

The beach is 20 min by SKM train from Gdansk Train station plus another 10 minutes waling. In a weird way, you can't buy a return ticket in Gdansk but you need to by one way Gdansk - Sopot and then in Sopot you can buy your return ticket. It has different prices also.
