When you walk through the city and you start recognizing the artists behind a mural by the style it means 2 things: the artist managed to make himself/herself noticed (congrats to that) and second your street-art knowledge and awareness is increasing (be proud of it!)
I am passing every morning on Maria Theresiastraat in Leuven and at some point if you are walking towards the train station on your left side there is a small street there you can spot one of Bisser's murals
On the "street art"street in Leuven, Brugbergpad) under the Sojo Porject there is another Bisser mural
the other day, I was talking to a friend who told me about a mural close to Albert Heijn, so I went over there to check it out and hey I realized this is the same artist.
I did not know his name at the time. But I was walking the other day towards STUK and at some point I pass a garage, I go back and as it was opened I spot inside some street art. I look around and it looks like the place was cleaned up to be sold, or just empty and abandoned so I went inside (I do apologize for that) and I discover amazing murals on the walls of the garage. One of the artists I knew as I remembered the style from Mechelen and the second one was the same as for the other 2 murals I spotted in Leuven. On some of the walls a paper was hanging questioning who is bisser? so although again I apologize for entering I am happy that now I actually have a name to the artist and can keep an eye on his art.
"Itâs hard for me to say how I found my specific style. I think I just wanted to draw totally different. This was at the end of my first year animation. I had a final jury. And it didnât went well. I had to do my first year again. In Belgium there is a word for doing a school year over again, itâs âbissenâ. So I called myself Bisser."
â you can find more information about him on isupportstreetart and also below in the paper that was hanging at the garage.
Here some of the other drawings I found in the garage.
I do wander of all these guys have actual names and how the idea is developing for each of them
Just the other day I saw actually on his Facebook page that he finished a new mural (together with a different artist) next to the Stella Factory so I took a ride to see it.
I will update the post with any other murals I will find around. :)
